Confessions of a Tiger

The Brick Lane Gallery hosts a group show of contemporary Irish artists, curated by Hugh McCarthy. Each artist has been invited to participate because of their interest in investigating on art and contemporary Irish culture. Their myriad interpretations are tackled in many and various ways from formal, optical and material processes through to sinister recreations of childhood nightmares, staged ‘accidents’, surreal portraits, veiled intentions, empty threats and things that may go bump in the night. Each work, whilst different one from the other, shares perceptual peculiarities that invite the viewer to look very carefully at what they think they’re being shown.
